Coffee with caffeine or without
Which is better for Diabetes?

Coffee

Many people enjoy a steamy, hot cup of coffee to get them going in the morning without even giving a thought to how will this affect my diabetes. This raises some interesting questions, like is it good for diabetes and should I be drinking regular or decaffeinated?

Some studies have shown that it has a positive effect on diabetes, but it’s clear that it has nothing to do with the caffeine. It appears that decaf may actually help people keep their blood sugar under control, whereas regular seems to raise it. Apparently there are some compounds in caffeine that have harmful effects on blood sugar levels.

So for all of you regular caffeine drinkers with diabetes perhaps it would be best to go through a few days of headaches, sleepiness, and mental grogginess to make the switch to decaf and better blood sugar levels.
