PH Balance Levels in the Body for Saliva and Urine
What are healthy levels?

PH Balance Levels for Saliva

Swanson pH BalanceAlkalizing Formula The pH balance levels run on a scale is from 0 to 14, making 7 completely neutral representing perfect balance of acid and alkaline. The body needs to maintain balance but 7 is not the magic number for your body. Instead the body was designed to be slightly more alkaline inside, making 7.4 to 8.0 the zone for optimal measure of health. Your cells can function at 6.8, but if it falls much below that some cells will begin to stop functioning. This means if your body is more acidic, between 5.5 and 6.6, your body is not effectively absorbing vitamins, nutrients, minerals and food supplements.

7.4 – 8.0 your body fluids are in a healthy range, meaning you are not mineral deficient at the moment. (Vegetarians will commonly fall in this range.)

6.2 – 6.8 your body fluids are becoming acidic and you may be developing one or more diseases. (This range can be improved with diet, exercise, and detoxification program or pH balancing supplements and teas.)

5.5 – 6.0 your body fluids are highly acidic and very mineral and oxygen deficient making it very possible that you have at least one degenerative disease. (This range can be improved with better emotional health, improving diet, detoxification or pH balancing supplements and teas, and exercise .)

*Saliva tends to be the most accurate if done first thing in the morning or about 3 hours after eating or drinking anything.

PH Balance Levels for Urine

The urine will reveal the efforts of the body via the kidneys, adrenals, lungs and gonads to regulate the body pH through the buffer salts and hormones. Urine can provide a fairly accurate picture of body chemistry, because the kidneys filter out the buffer salts of pH regulation and provide values based on what the body is eliminating.

Urine pH can vary from about 4.5 to 9.0 for its extremes, but the ideal range is 6.5 to 7.0. It tends to be lower in the morning and higher in the evening.

*Urine can be influenced by drugs, medications, vitamin supplements, preservatives, stress, food you eat, how much water you drink, the amount of pathogens in your system, sleep you get, and all biochemical activities going on in your body.

Causes of an Imbalance

In a body that is more acidic there will be a decrease in energy production in the cells, decreased ability to repair cell damage and ability to detoxify heavy metals, tumors will thrive and the person will be more fatigued and susceptible to disease and illnesses.

An acidic pH can occur from an acid forming diet, emotional stress, overload of toxins, and/or immune reactions or any process that deprives the cells of oxygen and other nutrients.
