FactsSitagliptin (Januvia) is an oral medication in a class of drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) used to treat
type 2
diabetes. It works in two ways: 1) By increasing the amount of insulin released by your body 2) By decreasing the amount of sugar made by your body Side Effects
Common: - Headache - Nausea - Runny or stuffy nose - Sore throat - Upper respiratory infection
Severe:
- Severe allergic reactions (rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue, unusual hoarseness) - fever or chills - red, blistering, swollen, or peeling skin
